Pay $25-28 per hour

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking several R&D Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technicians for a multi-year engagement at one of our Global Medical Device clients in Irwindale, CA. The facility is relocating to Irvine, CA in February 2021 and the successful candidate will be required to work in Irvine, CA. This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. OVERVIEW
The R&D Technician will support project teams in the development of electrophysiology catheters and/or related accessories at a Global Medical Device company. Project support includes prototyping new product designs and new manufacturing processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works with the R&D Technicians and engineer(s) to create new product designs through prototyping
• Soldering of 40 gauge wires under a microscope
• Works with the R&D Technicians and engineer(s) to create new manufacturing processes through prototyping
• Works with the R&D Technicians and engineer(s) to solve complicated product assembly issues in new products
• Along with the Sr. R&D Technician candidate will be responsible for training the manufacturing assemblers on new product processes
• Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
• Responsible for ensuring co-workers follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties assigned as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A vocational, certificate, technical or Associates degree is required.
• Four to six years of related experience is required.
• Understanding of product structure (Bills of Material, routings, etc.)
• Ability to participate in a technical team.
• Must possess good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent dexterity and ability to assemble small components
• Ability to translate product design into a written set of assembly instructions
• Work environment is a combination of prototype lab environment and manufacturing cleanroom.
