Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a full-time Clerk position for our client, John Deere, one of the world’s leading equipment and manufacturing companies, at their location in Milan, IL.    


Pay rate: $15.33/hour


Schedule: 1st and 2nd shift openings.


     1st shift hours will be Sunday-Thursday starting at 9am, OT may be available or required on Fridays.


     2nd shift hours are Monday-Friday starting at 12pm, OT may be available or required on Saturdays.

 


Primary Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Prepare domestic/international bills of lading

  • Manage trailer movements

  • Will-call customer interaction

  • Sort and process pick ticket stubs

  • Perform data entry and serve as backup for BOL clerk tasks

  • Work at driver window or burst tickets and distribute work or equipment

  • Train as backup to cover all duties in the department, including BOL, customs document creation

  • Act as customer service for warehouse workers

  • Manage thirteen printers w/sense of urgency

  • Navigate multiple computer systems to investigate and resolve issues

  • Mostly office work with some trips to the warehouse to deliver work or resolve issues

  • Will use Excel occasionally, but majority of work will be in Deere’s mainframe/menu driven systems, DNS (Dealer Network System) and WCS


 


Required Skills, Knowledge & Relevant Work Experience:



  • HS diploma/equivalent required (2 or 4-year degree with 3-4 years of experience in similar role preferred)

  • Must have an Administrative background AND experience in a warehouse/shipping office environment

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel

  • Ability to stand for the majority if your shift

  • Metatarsal safety shoes

  • Exceptional data entry speed/accuracy plus ability to stay focused and perform repetitive work for long periods of time

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work w/varying types of personalities

  • Attention to detail, timeliness and excellent attendance are key as position is critical to keeping operation running smoothly

  • Must be self-motivated to help coworkers during lull times

  • Familiarity w/shipping materials, DOT regulations and relationship between the two (preferred)

  • Previous experience w/inventory systems/tools/AS400 programs (preferred)

     


Term of Assignment:



  • January 11th, 2021 through October 31st, 2021, with a possibility of an extension depending on performance and needs of the client
