School Floater – Extra Support Staff for Berkeley County Schools 


Job Description:


Kelly Education is looking for energetic and dependable team members that are willing to work 5 days a week at a designated assigned school.  You will assist with all daily activities and be the extra support staff wherever the schools highest needs are for the day.  You may fill in for the front office in the morning and switch to the hall monitor in the afternoon.  We are eager to get you started with an application.  This job begins on September 8th.  Apply Now.  


Essential Functions:


Maintains confidentiality;


Punctual and responsible in performing all duties and activities as assigned;


Provides consistent support to ensure staff to student ratio;


Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students;


Coordinates with the instructional teams to assist with children;


Works alongside the instructional teams to offer extra classroom support;


Assist front office staff with answering phones, making copies, signing students in/out, delivering mail and other related duties;


Escorts visitors to designated locations for appointments;


Assists staff and parents during student drop off and pick up;


Ensures the well-being and safety of children through active supervision and daily tracking;


Follows Berkeley County School District policies and procedures;


Participates in assigned training programs;


Exhibits a genuine nurturing, caring attitude to all children;


Maintains a positive, calm attitude and a soft voice, and encourages this attitude and voice in others working in the classroom;


Provides quality services in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness and personal caring;


Interacts with children in various activities (group or individual activities, homework, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.


Assists with transport of meals for classrooms as needed;


Monitors children in the health room, hallways, bus areas, common areas, and other locations on school grounds;


Supervise bathroom breaks to ensure social distancing;


Provide classroom coverage when the teacher is not in the room;


Assists students in the health room and other designated areas;


Attends all meetings and training sessions relevant to his/her duties; and


Performs other related duties as required.


Education and Experience:


High school diploma. Experience working with children preferred. 


Knowledge:


An understanding of the basic needs and characteristics of school-age children. Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies. Ability to acquire knowledge of the policies, procedures and activities of the school district which pertain to the specific duties and responsibilities of the job.  Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal regulations and guidelines.  Knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment, materials, and supplies used in daily activities.

Work cooperatively with others.


Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.


Understand and follow oral and written directions.
