Summary:
This is a temp-to-hire Forklift Operator position at a new distribution facility in Palmetto, GA, working with a global logistics company. The role supports both the startup phase and ongoing warehouse operations.
The position involves handling Google server parts, chips, and fiber cables weighing 40–50 pounds. These materials are sensitive and must be handled carefully in accordance with strict safety guidelines, including a no-metal policy. Additional duties include forklift operation, banding and taping boxes, and preparing items for shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Raymond stand-up reach trucks and cherry pickers (60 percent of duties)
- Perform material handling such as lifting to 50 pounds, staging, stocking, taping, and banding (40 percent)
- Assist with facility setup and general warehouse operations
- Follow strict safety rules and comply with the no-metal policy
Schedules and Pay:
Orientation is required on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Equipment testing is required on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 1:00 p.m. for both the Raymond stand-up reach and cherry picker. Permanent shifts begin only after both tests are passed.
Permanent Shift: Second Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. — $18.75 per hour
Requirements:
- Experience operating Raymond stand-up reach and cherry picker equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights of approximately 30 feet
- Composite toe boots required (steel toe boots are not allowed)
- Must comply with the no-metal policy
